Rick Harrell is an Analyst at Aperture Investors. He has over a decade’s experience working in emerging markets research and macro strategy. Rick has been involved in consulting, international economic research organizations, and the buy-side, most recently serving as a sovereign analyst at Loomis, Sayles, and Company. An ardent “macro-empiricist,” Rick is passionate about the use of data to identify trends, turning points, and opportunities. Rick’s experience living in Brazil, paired with his study of linguistics and international economics drives a multidisciplinary approach to the work of investing. Rick earned a B.S. in Linguistics from Brigham Young University, and both an M.S. in Applied Economics and an M.A. in International Finance from Johns Hopkins.
